I encountered an interesting person in a WhatsApp group who is passionate about many things, and especially passionate about the Sahel states of Africa. He has contacts there who keep him informed about what is going. Such news never reaches the mainstream media or, even if it does reach them, is ignored because it does not fit their narrative.
The European colonizers of Africa, even after they were forced to leave, continued to control the rights to natural resources and interfered in the politics. Those who tried to break free from their influence were treated harshly. Burkina Faso is one nation that has successfully held off the challenges posed by the ex Colonizers.
